Sami Callihan’s reign of domination at IMPACT suddenly went unconcluded as he incurred a serious ankle injury. The IMPACT superstar’s injury took place at TV tapings in September. Most speculation regarded his recovery said that the star won’t return before 2022.
Callihan has a few thoughts about his return, however. The former IMPACT World Champion went on the Battleground podcast. He likened the severity of his injury to the broken-leg injury that Sid Vicious received at 2001 WCW Sin.
It was broken. I straight Sid Viscious’d myself, it snapped in half. It was gross.
He also detailed how the process of recovery is going for him. Detailing that the stitches have been removed from the surgery, he said that he is four weeks into the recovery. Even though the IMPACT star won’t be fighting in a ring any time soon, his overall outlook seems extremely positive.
Recovery) is going great. I’m like four weeks into recovery right now, finally got the stitches out from surgery and able to do a little bit of range of motion. Not going to be able to put any pressure on it for another four or five weeks and then I’ll start rehab. You can’t get rid of me that easy. Trust me, when I come back, there will be hell to pay and you’ll see an entirely new Death Machine.
Sami Callihan had been having a great time just before his surgery. Earlier this year, he was planned to team up with his old wrestling buddy AEW’s Jon Moxley at The Wrestling REVOLVER’s 30th October show, but his injury got the better off him. He had even promised shaving off Kenny Omega’s newly groomed mustache, which is now an iconic part of his look.
