Impact Wrestling held their annual Bound for Glory event over the weekend. The news surrounding the company lately has been a mixed bag. Impact had a World title change at the show which got fans buzzing, but rumors of the end of the promotions relationship with AEW have caused some turmoil in the company.
Up next for Impact is the Turning Point PPV which takes place in Las Vegas on November 20. Mike Johnson of PWInsider has released the company’s plans for two big matches that will take place on the show.
Knockouts champion Mickie James will defend her title against Mercedes Martinez in Vegas. Impact’s new world champion Moose will take on veteran Eddie Edwards for the world title at the show.
Mickie defeated Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts title after she helped organize the NWA all-women’s show earlier this year. James has made it her mission to promote women’s wrestling anywhere she can.
Moose’s road to the top was a little wilder. After Josh Alexander beat Christian Cage for the World title at BFG, Moose cashed in his Gauntlet for a shot at the strap. After a spear and a quick pinfall, Moose won his first Impact World championship.
Impact has been doing strong business on pay-per-view on the heels of their working relationship and talent exchange with All Elite Wrestling. With the relationship seemingly ending after the latest PPV, it will be interesting to see how the numbers look for what many regarded as a strong show.
