The incident between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch on this past week’s episode of SmackDown is well known, but developments are coming out as the days progress, shedding some light on just what occurred behind the scenes, and what may occur moving forward. These new details don’t paint The Queen in the best light.
As we’ve been reporting, the situation grew very much in scope, going from bad to worse as the day waned on, heading to the title exchange which was set to occur on that night’s broadcast.
In response to the controversy that was stirred up, it was said that Charlotte wanted to lose to Bianca Belair the previous Monday, hence dropping the title to her instead of taking part in the ridiculous title exchange that was set to occur, however now, it seems that even these claims are false.
According to Fightful Select, there is some doubt backstage about just how much Flair was really pulling for Bianca Belair to beat her for the RAW Women’s Title. The fact remains that The Queen has been outspoken about creative for a while.
There were members of the roster that challenged the idea that Charlotte “campaigned” to lose to Bianca Belair on Monday, although she seemed fine losing the match. We’re told that Charlotte has been outspoken about creative, regardless.
It would seem that both she and her father were down about the creative direction for Charlotte for many months. At the time, many cited this as one of the concerns Ric Flair had before his exit from the company, he hating the direction his daughter was headed in – particularly an angle that was coming up pitting his daughter against Alexa Bliss.
The locker room seem to be very much on Lynch’s side here and with the fact that Flair was escorted from the building by security, it would seem as though WWE management is also on Lynch’s side. We’ll keep you posted as developments come to light.
