WWE is holding another Halloween Havoc event on October 26th. This might be the last special NXT event of the year since they have no TakeOver shows on the current lineup. The company obviously wants to pop a big rating and they are pulling out a favorite trick to pad the numbers.
Halloween Havoc will feature several title matches and we could see someone like Bron Breakker really pushed to that next level. NXT wants to build new characters and Halloween Havoc will give them the perfect opportunity to do so.
According to Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcasts’ Andrew Zarian, WWE is likely going to present the first part of Halloween Havoc in a commercial-free format. It is not expected to be a long commercial-free airing, but the first half hour will likely not include any commercial breaks.
Expect the first 30 min of NXT Halloween Havoc to go commercial-free.
WWE has pulled out their commercial free gimmick many times in the past, and it seems to help. They most recently tried it against AEW Rampage as SmackDown ran thirty minutes longer on FS1 last week. Obviously, that tactic didn’t really work, because AEW still beat WWE’s blue brand in the ratings.
We will have to see what kind of numbers Halloween Havoc pulls in. Vince McMahon’s vision for a revamped NXT hasn’t been received as well as many hoped as each week seemingly sees fewer fans tune in each week.
