AEW Rampage airs every Friday right after SmackDown. WWE tried their best to hamper that viewership last week by extending SmackDown by thirty minutes. That tactic didn’t really work as AEW still beat WWE in the precious 18 to 49 demographic. Vince McMahon isn’t thrilled about that situation.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter described a very interesting situation in its latest edition. It was said that Vince McMahon didn’t let anyone see him get upset about the SmackDown vs Rampage ratings last week. That has not been the case in recent memory.

It was further noted that Vince McMahon has acted “immature” about the AEW viewership numbers in the past. This time around Mr. McMahon did not have that same reaction.

Vince McMahon was in Sacramento. It was described as he didn’t get mad in front of anyone and it was noted that there have been times in these situations where he can come across very immature when ratings come out not favorable in recent weeks and it was said he was anything but that.

It should be kept in mind that the ratings McMahon saw were the overnight numbers, and he has been doing this long enough to understand that those numbers are not the final authority on anything. The fast nationals concentrate on bigger markets, but he also knew the key demographic numbers were close.

It seems that Tony Khan is very pleased with how AEW is performing. That is evident with all of the pot shots he takes at WWE on a weekly basis. We’ll have to see what’s in the future, but the AEW vs WWE war is likely far from finished.
