Corey Graves showed up for Crown Jewel in a bizarre suit. Never one to shy away from fashion statements, Graves rocked a jacket made up of random imagery from playing cards over a black t-shirt.
The wrestler-turned-commentator also had some new facial hair. Graves did his best to channel the 1970s with a shocking new mustache. He called himself the World Champion of Love for a reason.
Corey Graves has been called a modern Bobby “The Brain” Heenan due to his mastery as a troll on the mic. The new mustache makes him look even more devious.
Graves made a name for himself as an independent wrestler in Pittsburgh as “Sterling” James Keenan. After working as enhancement talent on WWE television tapings in the city, he was brought in on a developmental deal.
In 2014, Graves was forced into retirement due to concussion issues. Given an opportunity to contribute in a different way, he has thrived.
Graves’ concussion issues and eventual transition from NXT superstar to commentator were documented in WWE Behind the Curtain. The documentary was originally aired by ESPN as part of their E:60 documentary series.
