MJF cemented himself as one of the best heels in the modern-day pro wrestling world and there is a very good reason for that. He quickly cemented himself as a top star and remains one of the highlights of AEW television since the debut of AEW Dynamite back in 2019. It seems Tony Khan considers more pillars in AEW than the ones MJF recently mentioned.
The Salt of the Earth is dedicated to his character as he never breaks kayfabe, inside or outside the squared circle. His dedication to his credit has won him over with fans who simply love to hate him.
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns recently took multiple shots at AEW, where he stated that he doesn’t view AEW as competition for WWE. In addition to that, Roman Reigns also verbally destroyed CM Punk as he said that Punk has lost a step.
While speaking to Rasslin, MJF talked about Roman Reigns and gave him massive props for being a great worker. MJF then claimed that he is better on the mic and inside the ring than Roman Reigns.
“Roman Reigns lost in the key demographic to Ruby Soho, and Ruby Soho su*ks, so I don’t know what to tell you. Don’t get me wrong, that’s not me shi**ing on Roman Reigns. I think Roman Reigns is a hell of a performer, he really is. I think he’s absolutely incredible. Am I better than him on the mic and in the ring? Sure. But I’m not gonna go out of my way and talk sh*t about him because I respect him. I respect what he does. I respect the hard work that goes into putting out that product that is WWE.
Again, someday I might work there. I’m also sure if he sees this, he’ll pretend he doesn’t know who I am because that’s what they do over there. When, in reality, I know that they’re all watching our stuff. Again, I cannot stress this enough, a huge fan of Roman Reigns. I think he’s great. Would love to work with him one day.”
The prospect of Roman Reigns vs MJF is certainly an enticing one, to say the least. However, it is unlikely it will happen anytime soon as neither star will make the jump to their respective company in the coming years.
