The WWE 2K series of video games continues to get mixed responses from fans over the years. While they have provided great games such as 2K19, they also released WWE 2k20, which was universally panned. It seems the latest WWE 2k game will not have any more announcements until next year.

WWE 2K22 was announced during WrestleMania 37 and finally, during WWE SummerSlam, it was announced that the game will release next year in March, as opposed to this year.

As reported earlier, the WWE 2K22 had to delay the release of the game due to WWE releasing so many talents this year. Ultimately, the delay caused the relationship between WWE and 2k to become ‘really strained.’ A lack of updates for the game was also previously explained.

According to a report by Sports Gamers Online, fans will not be getting any updates or announcements regarding the upcoming video game until next year. It was said that that they reached out to 2K and were told by Senior Manager of Global Communications, Al Stavola that 2K currently has no plans to make any announcements regarding the title before January.

It was also reported that no reveals have been discussed for the rest of this year. Instead, the WWE 2K team is planning on doing a proper reveal, complete with over athlete and gameplay details, for January. We will have to wait and see how WWE 2k22 will turn out to be next year as the future of the franchise solely rests on the success of the game.
