AEW has come to have a very vibrant and unexpected roster. While The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega came from NJPW, their recent inclusions are some of the biggest former WWE superstars. CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole and Ruby Soho all get heavy traction from the audiences, which is great for AEW. Those big stars could make for some epic matchups to come.

Adam Cole is especially a curious case. While there was almost no word on him leaving WWE NXT, his entry with Bryan Danielson was highly suspected. The former Shawn Michaels’ protégé is now making a name for himself at AEW, and it seems he wants a dream match with one of his fellow AEW superstars.

Cole recently spoke to Bleacher Report where he revealed that he would really love to face CM Punk. Since he was at the top level in NXT, the decision to come to AEW was tough for him. Cole revealed that having many possible dream matches at AEW certainly helped his case.

As far as the young guys go. Darby Allen is one. I’d really like to get in there with MJF. He is incredibly talented, I’d love the chance to work with him someday. I do want to step in there with Bryan [Danielson] again. I’ve only wrestled Bryan in a singles match one time, and it was that last-minute SmackDown event, which is super memorable for me. So I’d love the chance to wrestle him again in AEW. CM Punk is at the top of my list. I’ve been very open and honest about how much he influenced me in my career. He’s a guy who introduced me to Ring of Honor and independent wrestling as a whole. He was the guy who made me realize I really want to focus on promos. I never thought I’d get the chance to step into the ring with him.

Adam Cole recently revealed that he never cared about the Wednesday War ratings battles which took place between NXT and AEW Dynamite. He also told fans about the origin of his Bay Bay catchphrase. While he would love to face Bryan Danielson or Darby Allin, he also likes the idea of facing Kazuchika Okada.
