CM Punk’s AEW debut at AEW Rampage: The First Dance is considered one of the greatest moments in the company’s history and it is hard to argue why. Adding to that, his debut might even make it to Guinness World Records due to how loud that Chicago crowd was.

Punk himself absolutely loved his AEW debut and it was said that AEW had no idea what Punk was going to say in his promo during his debut on AEW Rampage. Since returning to AEW, CM Punk made it clear he came back to the pro wrestling world in order to put over the younger talents in the company but he also expressed his desire to compete in NJPW.

While speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, CM Punk talked about his possible opponents in NJPW. CM Punk made it clear that he wants a piece of Kazuchika Okada as he is their number one guy.

“I got to do that when I take acting gigs, and that’s hard enough, so then to be in Japan for two weeks to sit in a hotel, I’d probably lose my mind. I’m for sure interested. You said Okada, and I think that’s a guy I would definitely be interested in getting in the ring with because again, gone for seven years, the rise of everybody who has become a superstar in my absence. I definitely want to get back in the ring with him. He’s probably the number one guy over there.”

We will have to wait and see if CM Punk and Kazuchika Okada will eventually square off against each other inside the ring as fans would love to see it happen. The Forbidden Door is wide open, but the biggest question is whether NJPW will loan Okada out to AEW for that dream match.
