WWE just ran another Draft and those new rosters will go into effect on October 22nd when the company returns from Saudi Arabia. The company has the power to split up any tag team they like on Draft Day, but some teams made it through intact.
It was previously reported that WWE considered breaking up AJ Styles and Omos in the 2021 WWE Draft. Ringside News has learned that is not really the case.
A tenured member of the creative team replied to questions about reports of breaking up AJ Styles and Omos. “Not true. AJ and Omos were always staying together,” our source confirmed.
Reports that they considered a Street Profits split are true. We were told that the Street Profits split was discussed, but “every option is discussed.”
It was further noted to us that “this all gets blown out of proportion because it’s without context.” During a Draft situation “every option is discussed” and “every team is discussed splitting, and teams are discussed as being put together […] The Street Profits were discussed as being split, but it’s not accurate to say ‘it almost happened.'”
The WWE Draft allows the company to present a revamped roster and they explore all options. Just because something is mentioned as a “what if” situation does not mean it was seriously under consideration.
