At the All Out pay-per-view, one of AEW’s original signings turned up in the crowd with Ethan Page and American Top Team during the pre-show. The broadcast noted at the time that Sky had signed a new deal with AEW.
At the time, the big story featuring Dan Lambert, Sky, Page, and MMA stars Jorge Masvidal, Junior Dos Santos, and Andrei Arlovski (and eventually Paige VanZant) was just getting started. The legitimacy of the signing, though, was questionable. It wasn’t clear whether the re-signing was part of a storyline or the real deal.
In an interview with Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com, Sky was asked about his contract status, and noted that he signed at around the time of the PPV. The former SoCal Uncensored member later turned on his partners (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian).
After the breakup of SCU, Sky teamed with Ethan Page. Together, they form the Men of the Year duo. They’ve been feuding with Chris Jericho with American Top Team as their muscle.
Scorpio Sky and his partner, Page, will be teaming up with Junior Dos Santos for a six-man match against Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle on Saturday night. AEW Dynamite will air on Saturday at 8PM Eastern on TNT. This week’s normal Wednesday timeslot was pre-empted by the debut of the NHL on TNT.
