Brock Lesnar was absent from WWE television after dropping the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. That changed at WWE SummerSlam, where he made his shocking return to WWE television and confronted Roman Reigns. He officially came back as a babyface, much to the delight of fans.
Lesnar has worked with several top WWE Superstars during his two runs with the company and that included JBL. JBL played football for Abilene Christian University before getting into pro wrestling, so he was treated like a hometown hero whenever he wrestled in the city.
While speaking in a YouTube Q&A, JBL revealed how Brock Lesnar did an unselfish act as he willingly offered to put JBL over during WWE live events in Abilene as he knew JBL’s friends were in the crowd.
“I was working with Brock [Lesnar] in Abilene and I said to him, ‘Hey, Brock, I wanna talk to you,’ and Brock responded, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, your college buddies are here. I’m gonna put you over.’ I said, ‘Brock, they don’t care who goes over. I couldn’t care less. If you win, I win, it doesn’t matter.’ I said, ‘We’re going to a place afterwards,’ and that’s what I was telling him.”
Brock Lesnar is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WWE Crown Jewel on October 21st. It remains to be seen if he will be able to beat Roman for the title or not.
