Velvet Sky Disagrees With D-Von Dudley’s Account Of Split With Bubba Ray Dudley

As we learned earlier this week, the legendary Dudley Boys are no longer working together. According to D-Von, he wishes his kayfabe half-brother “nothing but the best.”

According to D-Von, the split happened back in 2016 when the team was offered a contract by WWE. D-Von claimed he signed the contract, but Bubba refused to do so.

D-Von stated, “They gave us both the contract. I signed it. He didn’t want to sign it and it left a bad taste in their mouth.” D-Von described the disagreement as simply a case of wrestlers going “different ways like most tag teams do.” due to a difference of opinion.

After an unbelievably successful run through ECW, WWE, and Impact, and the independent circuit, the team opened the Team 3D Academy in Florida. Since the split, however, each wrestler runs their own school.

Currently, Bubba is running a wrestling school in Connectic. D-Von stayed in Florida to run his school. It seemed the split was amicable if one were to listen to D-Von’s telling of it.

Bubba’s fiance, Velvet Sky, took to Twitter when she saw things differently. Sky retweeted a link to a story about the breakup that quoted D-Von’s positive telling of the split.

“Fiction can be fun… lol if y’all only knew the truth. Cuz this ain’t it,” Sky commented along with the retweet. She deleted the tweet approximately an hour later. Bubba Ray Dudley has not commented on these developments or on Velvet’s deleted tweet.
