AJ Styles and Omos make a very interesting team, but it has worked out very well. Omos, who is relatively green, has learned a ton while working with Styles. That being said, every team has a shelf life in Vince McMahon’s company. There were apparently plans to split them up in recent memory, but those plans changed.
WWE also planned on splitting up the Street Profits in the Draft, but they declined to do so. AJ Styles and Omos’ breakup was apparently saved for a later date as well.
The 2021 WWE Draft saw AJ Styles and Omos placed on the same brand, but that was almost a different story. According to a recent report from Wrestle Votes, WWE considered breaking up the former RAW Tag Team Champions to the point where that was actually the plan for a minute.
WWE had seriously considered breaking the pairing of AJ Styles & Omos during draft. To the point where that was the plan. Until people of power (including a main RAW talent) spoke up & expressed thoughts on how Omos isn’t quite ready for singles yet. And they actually listened.
We are uncertain how much time AJ and Omos have with each other. Vince McMahon typically pairs up a team with the intentions of them breaking up and feuding. Only time will tell how this partnership plays out, but it wouldn’t be a huge surprise for Omos’ skills to only improve the longer he is able to work closely with a veteran talent like the Phenomenal One.
