Many consider CM Punk’s AEW debut at AEW Rampage: The First Dance to be one of the greatest moments in the company’s history and it is hard to argue why. To add to that, his debut might even make it to Guinness World Records.

Punk himself absolutely loved his AEW debut and it was said that AEW had no idea what Punk was going to say in his promo during his debut on AEW Rampage.

Since returning to AEW, CM Punk made it clear he came back to the pro wrestling world in order to put over the younger talents in the company and so far he has been doing just that.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, CM Punk compared himself to Canadian Ice Hockey Legend Ray Borque and who is also an Olympian.

“Ray Bourque, that’s exactly who I am. You’re going to have to Google that if you’re not a hockey person, but that’s exactly who I am. I’m the f****** old guy on the team, and I’m there to score goals, block shots and do whatever the f*** I can to help the team win. I’m there in those in-between moments in the locker room to help people along. That’s my role backstage.”

It remains to be seen what other feuds CM Punk will be involved in, in the coming weeks, as he is certainly having a great time in AEW.
