Thunder Rosa is now with AEW full time, and that is a great addition to their roster. There was an issue with her NWA contract, because they apparently didn’t want to let her out of it. Rosa could have missed out on other opportunities because of that disagreement, and there was heat there.
Fightful Select spoke to Thunder Rosa who opened up about this rocky situation with her and the NWA. Tony Khan stepped in and bought out her contract and she was “flattered” that he did that.
There was some significant heat between Thunder Rosa and the NWA near the end of their dealings, but Tony Khan “went above and beyond” to make sure that Thunder Rosa felt wanted in AEW. He has a lot of confidence in her and her strong booking is proof of that.
Rosa and NWA had a rocky end to their relationship, and Rosa told Fightful by the end she was going directly through Pat Kenney for her work there.
Thunder Rosa was a favorite to win the women’s Casino Battle Royale match, but few were expecting Ruby Soho. Ringside News did exclusively report that Soho would debut in the match, but we’ll have to see what’s next for everyone involved.
