WWE rebranded NXT in a big way and now the black and gold brand will never be the same again. This also came with much more profanity and females showing skin. They are hoping to get that coveted 18 to 49 demographic, but those efforts have not worked just yet.

Vince McMahon himself pitched for more dirty words and females in revealing outfits during NXT programming. Mandy Rose and Toxic Attraction’s focus is proof of that along with Bron Breakker dropping the S-bomb as he has in the past.

Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast’s Andrew Zarian sent out a tweet to inform fans that NXT is aware of this viewership issue. They are still hopeful about the future as those new tactics are still in play to snag a much larger piece of their targeted demographic.

Spoke to a source this morning regarding NXT’s direction & what the expectations are.

“The is all to bring a new younger viewer who is connected with pop culture & trends. Needless to say, the demo numbers are disappointing but we are hopeful this is just a bump in the road”

NXT 2.0’s viewership has continued to slip with each week since their rebranding. We will have to see what they try next, but it is apparent at this point that WWE is really trying to do something with the NXT brand. Only time will tell if those efforts will prove successful.
