WWE is bringing back the King of the Ring and they are also holding a similar tournament for the women. The company also aired a special on Fox over the weekend to hype the history of that event.

Many people are pulling for another King of the Ring tournament, and Xavier Woods is not alone in that interest. There are a lot of fans who still love taking a stroll through WWE history and this special on Fox provided them a great opportunity to do so.

According to Wrestlenomics, WWE’s King of the Ring special on Sunday pulled in impressive numbers for the network. They garnered just under what WWE pulls in for their weekly RAW television show.

WWE aired a King of the Ring Countdown special on Fox on Sunday in many markets, watched by 1,691,000 viewers and 563,000 aged 18 to 49, or a 0.43 demo rating.

Considering the fact that WWE brought in 2.12 million viewers for SmackDown this week, that King of the Ring special did pretty well for itself. We will have to see if more specials are incoming, but it’s hard to imagine that Fox is disappointed by those results.

The 2021 King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments will kick off with the season premier of SmackDown. Those tournaments will reportedly conclude at Crown Jewel on October 21st.
