WWE made a lot of difficult decisions during the 2021 Draft and now we have new rosters for the next year. The New Day and Big E are still separated as the company swapped them, but they almost made fans wait a bit to find that out.

According to a report from PW Insider, WWE almost made fans wait it out to see what would happen with The New Day. The original plan called for Bobby Lashley to get the #1 spot for RAW in the Draft, leaving Big E undrafted until Monday.
The company nixed plans to hold out and they went with Big E as the #1 pick instead. There was apparently a thought that fans would tune in to RAW in order to see if WWE placed Big E back with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.
Since WWE had no intention of keeping the New Day on the same brand, they went ahead and told fans which brand Big E was going to. This also eliminated a disappointing moment during RAW when it would have been revealed that the New Day were staying separated for another year.
We’ll have to see if the New Day reunite in the next year, but it has been a long time since the trio was regularly seen together on television. Perhaps they will get the group back together next year.
