Ever since Matt Riddle signed with WWE, he has been one of the mainstays of WWE television, be it in NXT or the main roster. His in-ring skills are one of the best in the company and he already has a good fan following. Despite that, he isn’t the easiest person to understand.

Matt Riddle’s character has certainly gotten over with fans thanks to his comedic timing and generally cool attitude while still being that of a stoner character. Vince McMahon wasn’t immediately on board with his character either

NXT 2.0 debuted last month and brought about a significant number of changes to the product, with fans having mixed feelings regarding the overall presentation and feel of NXT.

While speaking on the After The Bell podcast, Matt Riddle shared his thoughts on NXT and stated that NXT didn’t necessarily need the ‘2.0’ moniker and added that he likes the colors and pushing newer talents.

“I like the colors, I like the colorfulness, but I don’t know about the 2.0, I don’t think they needed the 2.0, but hey, I get it, we’ve evolved to the next level of NXT. I like it. I feel like, right now, they’re doing a great job of catering and pushing newer talent. Instead of getting guys with huge independent reputations and just putting them in the forefront, it’s really good that they’re building stars.”

USA Network was said to be pleased by the changes made in NXT 2.0. It remains to be seen how NXT 2.0 will fare in the coming months as WWE ushered in the new era of NXT.
