WWE released several Superstars from the NXT roster as part of their rebranding, which ended up being NXT 2.0. This included Bobby Fish, who was also released from WWE earlier this year.

Since then Bobby Fish made his way to Major League Wrestling, where he took part in the promotion’s Opera Cup, defeating Lee Moriarty in the first round.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bobby Fish talked about working in MLW and admitted that he needed a change of pace after spending four years in NXT, adding that he has a new lease on his wrestling life.

“I feel like I was ready in my career for a fresh coat of paint, so to speak. And here we are. It wasn’t orchestrated and I didn’t seek it out. Some things fell into place and it just happened, and I have this kind of new lease on my wrestling life. And I can’t wait to go at this thing guns blazing, and Saturday [was] the start of that. I feel I’ve kind of already got that ball rolling, but we’re ready to keep it rolling and kind of accelerate everything.”

Bobby Fish is set to challenge Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. It remains to be seen whether Fish will become a permanent member of AEW after the match or not.
