Ric Flair received a very bad look when Dark Side of the Ring aired their Plane Ride From Hell episode. He lost out on gigs and his CarShield commercials were paused. An online campaign was even launched by fans begging AEW to never bring him in. It turns out that he wasn’t 100% blackballed everywhere.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted something very interesting. Ric Flair’s “Wooo” and his music are still being used in a very public setting in the hockey world. The Las Vegas Golden Knights still show Flair in full display whenever the team scores a goal.

While a lot of people have distanced themselves from Ric Flair since Dark Side of the Ring, the Las Vegas Golden Knights of the NHL have not, continuing to show Flair doing the Woo! when the team scores a goal.

We’ll have to see whether Ric Flair is accepted back into the pro wrestling fold sooner than later. WWE also nixed his “Woo” from their opening video package and they replaced him with the Ultimate Warrior. Only time will tell if AEW brings him in, but it seemed like they were getting close to making that happen in recent memory as Andrade El Idolo kicked Chavo Guerrero to the curb.
