Seth Rollins is certainly one of the top Superstars in WWE as he was the face of the company for quite a while. His rise to superstardom truly began with his WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 31.

Unfortunately, Rollins had to relinquish the WWE Championship in November 2015 after suffering a torn ACL and MCL. Rollins returned at Extreme Rules 2016 and planted Roman Reigns with a pedigree.

While Roman Reigns was still the top babyface back then, fans were more than ready for Rollins to be a babyface and beat Reigns for the title. However, Rollins remained a heel.

While speaking to Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, Seth Rollins said that he was certain he would be a babyface upon his return in 2016 and didn’t want to be a heel.

“They [fans] had not fully accepted Roman as the top babyface champion yet. They still weren’t ready for it. I come back for the title I never lost, and so it made perfect sense. I thought for sure I’d be coming back as a babyface but the company had other plans, and that didn’t jibe with where I was mentally. I had envisioned myself as a babyface coming back. I had started to see momentum kind of pick up as I was coming back. I was like, ‘Okay, they’re gonna cheer me.”

Seth Rollins is likely to square off against Edge at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. We will have to wait and see who will come out on top in the third match between the two.
