AEW took the world by storm back in 2019 as it was the first pro wrestling company in a very long time that made waves in the pro wrestling world as a form of competition for WWE. It was certainly a risky endeavor as well because there was always the chance it was going to end up being a huge failure.

It is undeniable that AEW has become one of the most talked-about companies in the pro wrestling world thanks to CM Punk’s AEW debut as well as Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole.

Many fans agree with the fact that AEW has lately become a game-changer when it comes to pro wrestling companies and believe that WWE is finally acknowledging the company.

While speaking to Tokyo Sports, Kenny Omega stated that WWE is desperate after AEW’s recent boom, as the company has turned the tables on WWE in a big way.

“At the start, there was a huge gap between WWE and AEW. (AEW) was just some fledgling promotion after all. But have you realized how the tables have turned? WWE is desperate. They keep bringing back legends every other week. COVID is a terrible thing, and we never wanted it to happen but it is what it is.”

AEW Grand Slam was a great success as well, so it remains to be seen how the company will keep on carrying forward with their momentum in the coming months.
