Ever since Matt Riddle signed with WWE, he has been one of the mainstays of WWE television, be it in NXT or the main roster. His in-ring skills are one of the best in the company and he already has a good fan following. Despite that, he isn’t the easiest person to understand.

Matt Riddle’s character has certainly gotten over with fans thanks to his comedic timing and generally cool attitude while still being that of a stoner character. Vince McMahon wasn’t immediately on board with his character either.

While speaking on the “Out of Character” podcast with Ryan Satin, Matt Riddle talked about his relationship with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, stating that he and McMahon saw a lot of each other during TV tapings.

Riddle also added that McMahon shook hands with him and praised him often. The Original Bro added that he wants a hug from Vince McMahon and is willing to wait for it.

“The thing is I’ve been on TV a lot. I work a lot, you know. Vince sees me every week at least once. I got I’ve got a lot of handshakes – good job, I love your stuff, this, that, a lot of compliments. I have yet to receive a Vincent McMahon hug, you know. I was hoping I’d get one after SummerSlam, but not so much. And I don’t wanna force it. I’m not forcing it. You hug me when you’re ready, bro.“

Matt Riddle is currently 1/2 of the RAW Tag Team Champions along with Randy Orton and their dynamic has certainly proved to be a big hit with fans. It remains to be seen whether Matt riddle will be able to hug it out with Vince McMahon somewhere down the line.
