WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle has not returned to pro wrestling since his release, but that didn’t stop WWE from offering him a role. Angle also revealed the exorbitant amount of money he’d need to wrestle one more match.
Kurt Angle had a tremendous career in WWE, spanning multiple World Title runs and incredible matches as he faced off against the best of the best the pro wrestling world has to offer.
This included his numerous instant classic matches against Brock Lesnar. Angle also faced off against Brock Lesnar in 2007 at the Inoki Genome Federation for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
While speaking during the Kurt Angle Show podcast on AdFreeShows, Kurt Angle talked about his match against Brock Lesnar at IGF. Angle said that Lesnar wanted Angle to win the title from him as Lesnar was going to leave the promotion.
“He (Brock Lesnar) called me out of the blue. I guess he didn’t want to do a job for anybody over in Japan. He was IWGP Champion. It was the third belt that we wrestled for, the IWGP third belt. I heard Brock was stripped of that title, but he wasn’t stripped because I beat him for that title. Brock wanted me to come over to Japan to wrestle him so he could lose to me, and I would end up losing to somebody over in Japan. That was his idea.”
Kurt Angle is currently enjoying life after retirement from pro wrestling. We certainly wonder if he will make his return to pro wrestling one way or the other.
