WWE Hall Of Famer Edge remains one of the mainstays in the company and he has done it all as far as being a pro wrestler is concerned. Edge also beat Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam in a singles match.
Edge has certainly faced off against the best of the best the company has to offer. He made his shocking return to WWE during the 2020 Royal Rumble, after a neck injury ended his career back in 2011.
While speaking on Episode 36 of the MCW Cast, Matt Hardy was asked about Edge choosing WWE over AEW. Hardy claimed that WWE decided to clear Edge as a way to prevent him from going to AEW.
‘That was one of those things too. I think if they [WWE] hadn’t have cleared Edge and let him wrestle, he was going to end up at AEW. So they kind of had to go, ‘Oh. If we don’t want him to go, we got to let him have his way.”
Edge is set to appear on next week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, which will be Night 1 of the show as it is likely he will be squaring off against Seth Rollins on the show.
