AEW presented their Grand Slam event this week and Rampage Grand Slam is going down tonight. This will be a huge moment for the company as they present a two-hour broadcast. You can check out the complete spoilers for that event here. Danielson vs Omega opened up Grand Slam, and AEW had a very good reason for that.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW made the decision to place the non-title dream match first so they could have more time. It was also noted that they only needed to take one commercial break during that first thirty-minute portion as well.
The match was put on first on Dynamite at 8 p.m. local time, which was by design as they can go longer earlier in the show without a commercial break. Plus the match was the night’s priority.
Omega and Danielson will presumably meet again, but next time it might be for the AEW World Title. That title match would not have a time limit, and maybe fans will finally see a definitive winner between the two living legends next time around.
