AEW Grand Slam is going to be a huge event for the company, one in a line of monumental events. Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega will square off in a non-title match, marking Danielson’s debut match for the company. Arthur Ashe Stadium will be a very loud venue and over 20,000 fans might attend.
The company has already sold over 18,000 tickets, but AEW could bring in even more fans. They just got around to setting up the location and that opened up even more seats.
Dave Meltzer noted on Twitter that AEW Grand Slam could have 20,000 fans or more at this point. It is important to note that secondary market tickets might go unsold, but they still count.
With production moved in, they have a lot of new openings for tickets for tomorrow’s Dynamite. The potential is more than 20,000 now.
We’ll have to see if AEW will be able to fill every seat possible for the event. They hit NYC hard with promotion, so it is very possible.
