John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and carried the company on his back throughout the PG era. Since 2017, John Cena became a part-timer in WWE and has appeared sporadically due to his busy schedule in Hollywood.
John Cena has accomplished everything there is to accomplish in WWE and has certainly contributed a lot to the pro wrestling business.
However, John Cena was not always interested in becoming a professional wrestler and certainly had a long journey ahead of him before he could realize his potential as a professional wrestler.
While speaking during the Florida Supercon, John Cena revealed that his debut against Kurt Angle and the handshake moment with The Undertaker was not even supposed to happen.
“It’s surreal and it all happened so fast [match with Kurt Angle and shaking hands with The Undertaker]. It wasn’t even supposed to happen. I was thrown in there last minute because they had no other options.
It was all like a blur but I remember I was ready to wrestle Kurt and he brought, technically the best out of me and forced me — he tried to run me ragged but I hung in there with him and yes, they filmed backstage moments of other superstars shaking hands there because it was genuine.”
John Cena began his WWE career back in 2002 and eventually went on to become one of the biggest names in the history of the business, transcending barriers.
