WWE’s NXT brand looks totally different with the introduction of NXT 2.0, and Adam Cole got out right before that shift. He has a ton of fond memories from the black and gold brand, including working with his heroes.

Cole and Shawn Michaels worked closely together. HBK produced many of Cole’s matches, and now the AEW locker room has Cole along with a ton of tutelage from the Showstopper.

While talking to TV Insider, Cole opened up about his relationship with Shawn Michaels. He got to learn from one of his heroes, and Triple H is right there with him. In the end, Cole said that he is better now because of NXT.

“I’ve been so open with how much of a relationship I formed with Shawn Michaels,” Cole explained. “He is an idol of mine. A guy I look at as the greatest professional wrestler of all-time. To have the chance to work under him was really cool. Triple H, as well, treated me with nothing but respect and is someone I learned so much from, whether it be things that may seem small but are a big deal in the ring or a work ethic.

“I feel like the pro wrestler I am today is a lot better than Adam Cole was four years ago. A lot of that is because of my time in NXT.”

We’ll have to see what’s next for Adam Cole, He had his first in-ring match against Frankie Kazarian on AEW Dynamite. Now he is off to see what The Elite has in store for him next.

The Superkliq is also re-forming for AEW Grand Slam Rampage, so that will see him reunite with The Young Bucks in the ring.
