Sami Zayn’s deal with WWE is running up soon, but original reports on his exact expiration date might be a bit early. It turns out that the former NXT Champion will be around WWE for a few months longer than some thought at first.

Many fans are wondering about Zayn’s WWE contract since he is so close with Kevin Owens. It was previously reported that Kevin Owens’ current WWE contract is up on January 31st, 2022.

Pat Laprade, who was first to report Kevin Owens’ contract expiration date, spoke to Sami Zayn in 2019 where he informed him that he had just signed a three-year deal at the time. That would put his contract expiration date at later this year.

It was also noted that the nine months Zayn spent out of action during the beginning of the pandemic needs to be accounted for. He was out of action for nine months and 21 days, June 17, 2018 to April 8, 2019. That being said, Laprade reported, “I am able to confirm that his contract will end this spring and not this fall as some news sites have reported in the last few days.”

Sami Zayn’s current WWE contract is reportedly up “somewhere in March, at the beginning of April at the latest” of 2022. That still isn’t a ton of time, but it does give WWE more of an opportunity to negotiate a new deal.
