CM Punk made his All Elite Wrestling debut on last month’s AEW Rampage: The First Dance, a move that created a lot of buzz for the company. Tony Schiavone considered it the greatest debut in pro wrestling history.
Punk himself absolutely loved his AEW debut and he has singlehandedly became the most talked-about pro wrestler on the planet right now, much to the delight of Mick Foley.
The Second City Saint also made it clear that he came to AEW because he loves pro wrestling again and that he wants to put over the young generation of AEW talents in a big way.
While speaking to Throwing Down with Renee Paquette and Miesha Tate, Ricky Starks talked about how CM Punk is backstage and how much he helps talents backstage. Starks stated that Punk regularly critiques wrestlers backstage and that he is a huge morale boost.
It’s been great. I know that he’s a hard worker and backstage, he’s very mindful of everyone and their matches and making sure he talks to them and critiques them. He’s very approachable too. Having Punk back there is a big morale boost. A big morale boost.”
CM Punk already called out Team Taz last week on AEW Dynamite and will be feuding with them for the time being. We will have to wait and see when Punk and Starks will duke it out inside the squared circle.
