WWE decided to bring Friday Night SmackDown to Madison Square Garden this week to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The episode ended up setting an all-time record for the show as well.
John Cena also competed in a match after the conclusion of the show at Madison Square Garden and sent the fans home. However, the show also featured a lot of cuts which included a huge segment and even a tag team match featuring Zelina Vega.
Zelina Vega was quite upset at WWE cutting her tag team match during the 9/11 episode. The match was cut due to time issues after Edge vs Seth Rollins went longer than expected.
Mick Foley took To Twitter and showed his support for Zelina Vega as he stated that it hurt him to see Vega’s match being cut.
So @TheaTrinidad’s match was cut for time at @TheGarden on the eve of 9/11? That hurts ME – I can only imagine how Thea felt. Stay strong, my friend.
Zelina Vega also commemorated her father on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. We hope WWE never does something like this ever again, but it is likely it will happen.
