Karrion Kross debuted a new mask on the WWE main roster the day after he lost the NXT Title to Samoa Joe at TakeOver: 36. That mask has marketing potential, but Kross had to warn how dangerous it can be.

The former NXT Champion tweeted out a strange set of phrases about masks. First off, Kross said that we all wear masks. Then he said that there will come a time when we can’t take our masks off without ripping skin off in the process. Masks can be dangerous, after all.

We all wear masks.

And the time comes when we cannot remove them

without removing some of our own skin.

We understand how dangerous a mask can be. We all become what we pretend to be. Perhaps I intend to expose that…

Painfully.

It seems that WWE is going full-tilt with Karrion Kross’ mask gimmick. Either that, or he was making a very vague and dark political statement. We’ll have to see if that mask sticks with Karrion Kross, but odds are it’s not going away.
