The pro wrestling world is still buzzing over AEW All Out, but WWE has their blinders on. Many have speculated that Vince McMahon’s booking decisions might be influenced by what Tony Khan’s pro wrestling company is doing.
WWE is in a worldwide market and they must consider competition from all sides. Company President Nick Khan told Ariel Helwani that, “[Thinking about competitors] is not what what I do, it’s not what we do at WWE. It’s looking ahead, where are we going. We look ahead, so our decisions are based on what’s best for us and whatever anyone else does with them, then good for them.”
Ringside News was told by a tenured member of the team that “WWE books in reaction to big football games. World Series. Olympics. College football. It’s not limited to AEW.”
The company’s booking decisions might be based on competition, but the company’s competition is not limited to All Elite Wrestling. WWE is competing with massive organizations, streaming platforms, and other sporting events from all over the world.
