Paul Wight is set to wrestle his first match in AEW at All Out this Sunday. Some fans weren’t too thrilled to see QT Marshall get the honor of facing the former Big Show first. Marshall has something to say to those negative fans.

Riju Dasgupta recently spoke to QT Marshall where that fan criticism became a subject of conversation. Marshall fired back at those haters by explaining that Paul Wight’s first match needs to be on a big stage, and he just happens to be the guy placed in that position as his “dance partner.” In the end, he’s happy to have the role.

“Fans are entitled to their opinions. If you had Paul Wight and you’re paying him whatever money you’re paying him, would you put his first match on AEW: Dark, would you put in on Elevation? I don’t know, I think he’s the kind of competitor that you would put on a pay-per-view. This is his first match back, along with CM Punk, and this is a huge pay-per-view. And I’m not gonna tell myself, I know what my role is here. He needs a dance partner, and I’m happy to be that guy. And if fans are upset about that, how much more upset are they gonna be when I beat him or anybody? (Laughs) It is what it is.”

We’ll have to see if QT Marshall can pull off that big win in Chicago at All Out. The event will be filled with huge moments for AEW that will likely make fans very happy. Only time will tell if Tony Khan books Wight to lose his debut match just to give fans something to complain about.
