WWE’s NXT brand is set to go through a big change when they return to live programming on September 14th. This will entail Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard capturing control of the development brand. How much control will they really have?
We previously reported that NXT is set to become “a Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard production.” This concerned some fans, because they are certain that the brand will change in some big ways. While McMahon and Prichard are in control, they won’t dictate every small detail.
Dave Meltzer followed up on that initial report to explain that McMahon and Prichard will have control over the “big decisions,” but the “little” decisions will be decided by someone else. The two will also be in control of NXT’s marketing, promotion, and the general direction of the brand.
McMahon and Prichard will be behind the big decisions, not the little ones, and will be behind marketing, promotion, and direction. Their role in booking may only be regarding those at the top.
We’ll have to see how things change in the next few weeks. They will kick things off on September 14th with a brand new era of NXT. This will also mark their return to live programming after a few weeks of taped shows, the last under the old guard.
