Ric Flair made headlines after requested his release from WWE earlier this month. It was previously said that Ric Flair wants one more in-ring run, and he has teased that on numerous occasions.

Ric Flair uploaded a photo of himself showing off his gains at the gym and also declared in a post that he will never retire. TripleMania XXIX even featured a surprise appearance from Ric Flair, who accompanied Andrade El Idolo to the ring.

In addition to that, Ric Flair does not have a non-compete clause after leaving WWE, This led many fans to wonder whether he will be making his way to AEW or not.

While speaking to Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions, The Nature Boy addressed rumors of him going to AEW. Flair revealed that he hasn’t spoken to Tony Khan regarding an AEW contract even now.

“I can also tell you, people who started rumors, no need to get into that. ‘Oh, he’s going to AEW. He and Tony Khan are friends’. Yeah, we are friends, but I haven’t heard a word from Tony. If he asks you, tell him I’m around (laughs).

Hypothetically, if I wanted to go work at AEW, I would go to (Vince) and say, ‘I want to do this and want to get back in the ring and I know you don’t like that, if I wanted to get knocked down or something’. He would say to me, ‘Ultimately, what’s best for you is best for me’.”

Eric Bischoff stated that fans will rejoice if Ric Flair will make his way to AEW. It remains to be seen if The Nature Boy will be making his debut in AEW somewhere down the line.
