Randy Orton Reportedly In Line For WWE Title Program

Bobby Lashley is still WWE Champion coming out of SummerSlam which means there are more opponents for him in the pipeline. We know that Goldberg is in line, but another challenger seems to have stepped up in Randy Orton.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about RAW this week and broke things down a bit. It appears that The Viper and Orton are set up to battle and Extreme Rules could be that match’s landing pad.

“I guess they just decided that they are going to, it appears the decision was that they are going to go with Randy Orton and Bobby Lashley, so they wanted Randy Orton vs Bobby Lashley.”

We’ll have to see how Randy Orton vs Bobby Lashley turns out, but it appears those two will battle at Extreme Rules. The WWE Title will likely be in play and that could lead toward Goldberg vs Bobby Lashley in Saudi Arabia.

There is no guarantee that Orton will become a double champion and blow Riddle’s mind by carrying two belts. It is interesting that Goldberg said that his beef with Lashley isn’t about the WWE Title. He wants The All Mighty’s soul ripped out of his chest. It is possible that Orton vs Lashley could be for Bobby’s soul at Extreme Rules, because the company did hold an eye for an eye match last year, but it’s far more likely to be for the strap instead.
