Kevin Owens is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world as he made a name for himself in the independent circuit, including ROH, before making his way to WWE in 2014. Owens has had a solid career in the company so far. He is also very passionate about pro wrestling in general.

Back in 2016, Kevin Owens won the WWE Universal Championship on an episode of Monday Night RAW. With Triple H’s help who took out Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens was able to win the match and the title.

On the five-year anniversary of his huge, Kevin Owens took to Twitter and thanked fans for reminding him about his landmark victory in a heartfelt message.

“My wife reminded me this morning that five years ago today something pretty cool happened. Then I got on Twitter and I saw a lot of people were reminding me of what happened there, as well. A lot of people remember it very well. Man, the last five years have been a roller coaster.

The highs are great, but the lows, sometimes, are really hard to take for somebody who cares a lot, and who is very passionate about this, like I am. I’ve been so lucky. I’ve had a really great career. I’ve had my wife, my kids, and my parents — who are all fantastic at helping me navigate through this.

I’ve been lucky to have a loyal following along me for that ride. And that’s you guys, today, reminding me of what happened five years ago when I won the Universal Title. I figured this was a good time to say thank you.”

Kevin Owens was the WWE Universal Champion for 188 days before losing it to Goldberg at WWE Fastlane in March of 2017. He was also involved in a long feud with Roman Reigns for the title earlier this year but was unable to win the title. We will have to wait and see if he ever wins the title again one day.
