Eddie Kingston walked onto AEW television like he should have been with the company from the beginning. He immediately made himself at home and found a new pro wrestling family. AEW also doesn’t alter who he is and those rosaries he wears around his neck mean far more than just entrance attire.
While speaking to Wrestle Zone, Eddie Kingston revealed the meaning behind his rosaries. One of them was given to him by a wrestler’s daughter, but the other one was blessed by the Pope.
The rosaries have been blessed by The Pope and a very, very close friend of mind gave them to me. And the other one is from a wrestler’s daughter who gave them to me. So, that’s why I keep them on when I go out. It’s not a branding or marketing thing, whatever I wear is me. There’s nobody in the back going, ‘maybe you wear this.'”
Eddie Kingston is set to take on Miro at AEW All Out with the TNT Title on the line. We’ll have to see if he is able to walk out of Chicago as the TNT Champion on September 5th, but he will have a bit of the Pope’s blessing along the way.
