Braun Strowman’s WWE release won’t be the last pro wrestling fans see of him. The Monster Among Men is in outstanding shape, and training for bodybuilding coemptions. He teased Chicago, meaning AEW, and other places, but it seems that he has another destination.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Braun Strowman’s likely landing pad will be Impact Wrestling. This is a bit of a surprise, because he was a huge name in WWE and part of a big push at times. It will be interesting to see where Impact Wrestling implements him into their depth chart.
“It appears the former Braun Strowman will be here […] Strowman is interesting because he is a big name who was a headliner in WWE until recently and would probably be pushed to the top here.”
It is also worth noting that Impact Wrestling is reportedly making heavy plays toward Bray Wyatt. Strowman already said he will see Wyatt again after Windham Rotunda’s release.
Impact Wrestling typically picks up a few free agents after every round of WWE releases. Scott D’Amore already spoiled Buddy Matthews’ impending Impact debut, but it seems that fans should expect Braun Strowman as well. For the record, he won’t be allowed to take his Strowman or Monster Among Men nickname with him, because WWE owns that copyright.
Braun Strowman was 100% a WWE Performance Center creation, coming straight from the strongman world. We’ll have to see how his previous career as a WWE Superstar translates outside of Vince McMahon’s company.
