AEW has been doing a lot of new things in order to be a strong pro-wrestling promotion. While they’ve been collaborating with IMPACT wrestling through the forbidden door, it seems they’re going a layer deeper with their new move.
According to a new report by Andrew Zarian, AEW Dark is going to be held at the Universal Studios in Orlando. If you’ve kept up with Impact Wrestling, you would know that they’ve held most of their shows at Universal, Orlando.
IMPACT started putting out the IMPACT Zone at Universal in 1990. They kept up the tradition for 28 long years until 2018. The promotion started touring that year, and hasn’t frequented the sight at all since then.
AEW Dark’s entire motive is to be a developmental show which bumps up talent and readies them for bigger platforms. Having the show held at the monumental site which the IMPACT Zone was held, AEW might be going for something deeply symbolic.
