WWE’s NXT brand and Full Sail University had a great relationship for years. The black and gold brand held tons of events there, including their weekly television show. Now that they have moved to the Capitol Wrestling Center, that relationship is up in the air, even reported as over. There seems to be more between the two sides than was first reported.
According to a report from PW Insider, the relationship between NXT and Full Sail University is not dead. They are just not planning to tape any further episodes of their television show on the campus. The two sides have left the door open to continue working together in the future.
Numerous WWE sources have reached out to PWInsider.com over the last 24 hours to relay that reports that the company’s relationship with Full Sail University has ended are incorrect. There are no plans to tape at Full Sail as long as the pandemic continues, but the door is open to return down the line when restrictions ease up. There are still FSU students who are regularly working all aspects of WWE NXT tapings.
The pandemic caused WWE to change all of their taping plans, including for the NXT brand. They were able to make things work and then move to a new venue, but only time will tell if the two sides ever work with each other again in the same capacity that they were before.
