WWE brought two big returns to SummerSlam for fans on Saturday, and one of them was a bit of a last-minute booking. Becky Lynch’s return was pushed up due to Sasha Banks’ absence as Ringside News exclusively reported. Now The Man is a heel, and it was apparently her request to make that turn. Brock Lesnar’s return was planned out much further in advance, and now the two are teased for this Friday’s show.
The company sent out promotion for SmackDown this week during WWE RAW. The voice over during that advertisement hyped two big returns, and then it was teased that fans will see both Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar on Friday.
“Two returns shocked the world,” the voice-over began. “This Friday. The Man came back around and re-claimed her place at the top. What’s next for the new SmackDown Women’s Champion? Plus… The Beast is back. With his focus set on The Head of The Table, does destruction await the Universal Champion?”
It stands to reason that Becky Lynch will be on the blue brand’s show this week, because she won the SmackDown Women’s Title at the biggest party of the Summer. Brock Lesnar’s appearance is a bit of a surprise, because his contracts usually include very limited dates.
It seems that fans will likely see Lesnar and his new Viking look along with Lynch and her new heel persona on SmackDown this week.
