WWE brought SummerSlam on Saturday, and now it is NXT’s turn to follow the main roster for a change. NXT TakeOver: 36 looks like a good show on paper, but we’ll have to see how they book things while so much is constantly changing for the black and gold brand. The kickoff show begins at 7:30 PM EST with the main card starting at 8:00 PM. The WWE Network programming grid shows the event within a three-hour time block.

Tonight’s special will cap off with Karrion Kross vs Samoa Joe. This is an interesting situation, because Kross is already on the main roster. That being said, if Joe wins he will be a 42-year-old three-time NXT Champion during a time when Vince McMahon’s vision for the brand includes younger and taller wrestlers.
Kyle O’Reilly vs Adam Cole is also an interesting match. Cole could be on his way out of WWE, and AEW might be interested. Britt Baker will be happy for him no matter what he decides to do.
Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai will finally throw down at TakeOver. Kai turned on Raquel during this feud which ended their friendship. This contest is a bit of a toss-up, because either woman could plausibly walk away with the gold.
Walter vs. Ilja Dragunov is likely to be an incredibly stiff contest for the NXT UK Title. The Million Dollar Championship is also up for grabs as LA Knight defends against Cameron Grimes. If Cameron loses, then Ted DiBiase must become Knight’s new butler.
