Ringside News has learned that Adam Cole will be a free agent when his deal expires this week. He has not signed any extension or a new contract with WWE. PW Insider has also confirmed this news.
Cole lost to Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver: 36 in a brutal 2 out of 3 falls match. That was very likely Cole’s final match under that brand’s umbrella.
Adam Cole did have a meeting with Vince McMahon, and writers were told to get ideas ready for him on the main roster. Ringside News also reported that there wasn’t the huge push to keep Adam Cold aboard that some believed. No long term deal was reportedly offered to Adam Cole either.
We will have to see what Adam Cole does next. He could go to AEW, but no formal talks have started between him and Tony Khan’s company yet. We have heard that there is a lot of certainty that Cole will sign a deal with AEW as soon as he is able to.
