CM Punk made his debut on this week’s AEW Rampage: The First Dance, in a move that truly increased shocked the pro wrestling world to its core. Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk had inked a deal with the company and now it happened for real.
CM Punk is expected to do a lot more than just wrestle in the ring and he was in talks with AEW for quite a long time as well. Fans and pro wrestlers alike were delighted to see him in AEW.
During his promo, CM Punk mentioned how the Chicago crowd made him feel like Britt Baker in Pittsburg. Baker had received a similar ovation from her hometown crowd during last week’s episode of Rampage as well.
CM Punk ended up meeting Britt Baker Backstage as Baker took to Twitter and uploaded a photo of the two, where she thanked Chicago for giving CM Punk the same treatment she got from Pittsburg.
Hey #Chicago, thanks for giving him the #Brittsburgh welcome. #AEWRampage@CMPunk
CM Punk also met former WWE Superstar Cliff Compton and also Vickie Guerrero backstage. CM Punk also noted how his AEW debut moment was more organic compared to his 2011 Money In The Bank moment. We will have to wait and see how CM Punk will fare in AEW in the months to come.
